Servo Valve DECV: More precision and lower operating costs for hydraulic control systems
19 November 2015, (Germany)

The new Voith servo valve DECV (Direct Electronic Copy Valve) is a further development of the Voith copy valve, which has already proven itself in countless hydraulic control systems. It combines the excellent operating characteristics and robustness with innovative valves and the associated electronic control. The single-stage, direct actuation ensures precise control: Through impulse response and accuracy, the DECV servo valve responds to demanding drive tasks. With a step response of only seven milliseconds, the DECV belongs to the class of highly dynamic valves. Thanks to the direct actuation, a hysteresis of considerably less than one percent is reached.

GE completes acquisition of Alstom power and grid businesses
1 November 2015, Paris (France)

GE [NYSE:GE] announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Alstom's power and grid businesses. The completion of the transaction follows the regulatory approval of the deal in over 20 countries and regions including the EU, U.S., China, India, Japan and Brazil. It is GE's largest-ever industrial acquisition.

GE reached an agreement with Alstom in 2014 to purchase Alstom's power and grid businesses for 12.35 billion Euro. Adjusting for the joint ventures announced in June 2014 (renewables, grid, and nuclear), changes in the deal structure, price adjustments for remedies, net cash at close, and including the effects of currency, the purchase price is 9.7B Euro(approximately $10.6B). This includes working capital usage of approximately 0.6B Euro in the month of October. GE expects the deal to generate $0.05-0.08 of earnings per share in 2016 and $0.15-0.20 of earnings per share by 2018. GE is targeting $3.0 billion in cost synergies in year five and strong deal returns. The overall economics and strategic rationale remain the same as GE announced in April 2014.

Avk helps providing secure water network in Sweden
29 October 2015, (Germany)

Citizens of the municipalities uppland-bro and sigtuna in sweden can look forward to a more secure water network. Norrvatten municipal council provides the municipalities with water and they have just started a large project building a new waterline between the two municipalities.

Prior to this project, both Uppland-bro and Sigtuna were dependent of a single water line, which made it vulnerable to breakdowns. The future waterline makes it possible to supply the two municipalities with water from two different sources, which enhance the delivery performance and minimise the damages if a breakdown of the network should occur...[+]
