Wireless Pakscan controls the flow at Nevada gold mine
3 diciembre 2013, Bath (Reino Unido)

A gold mine in Nevada USA has been able to take advantage of wireless Pakscan digital control for newly installed IQ intelligent electric valve actuators on the water filtration plant.

The Newmont underground mine utilises Geotube® dewatering technology to separate sediment from both ground and extraction process water. The filter systems, which are installed above ground, are fabricated from a woven material which is permeable to water while retaining solids and sludge. Excess water drains through small pores, resulting in effective dewatering of the contained material, which is then processed to extract the gold.

The large scale filtration operation has been automated by the motorisation of 15 widely distributed inlet and isolating valves with Rotork IQ actuators and a Modicon PLC to supervise the operation of the plant.

Lord Mayor of Mannheim visits the headquarters of the VAG Group in Mannheim
20 noviembre 2013, Mannheim (Alemania)

As a leading employer in the Rhine-Neckar District, VAG has become important to the region through its steady growth in Germany and abroad, and its capacity for innovation.
This prompted the Lord Mayor of Mannheim, Dr. Peter Kurz, together with the Deputy Mayor and other staff members of the Mannheim City Administration, to visit the headquarters of the VAG Group in Mannheim on 18 November 2013.

The Managing Director of the VAG Group, Robert Mr Fellner-Feldegg, welcomed the visitors to the VAG Visitor Center and told them about the history of VAG. The guests were given an overview of where VAG valves are put to use during a walk around the Visitor Center and the Technical & Service Center. A practical on-the-spot demonstration of the VAG RIKO plunger valve, a walk around the VAG Gallery of History and a guided tour through the production section rounded off the visit. Lord Mayor Dr. Kurz made special reference to the Visitor Center and the demonstrations given, saying that they were particularly impressive. "It's not often that you see something like this," he pointed out, and wished VAG continued success.
